dunno why, but i suddenly miss high school.
happen to catch up with peter, jasper, jack, and jay over at ym. conversation was the usual no-topic, mostly goofing around, having-a-good-time kind of talk. then this topic on that elusive reunion came up...
personally, i've given up on it. sure i wanna see my batchmates again, but i don't like the idea of me having to bust my ass calling/texting/whatever mode of communication possible to contact the other and inform them about it. jasper (or was it jack...) was right. its a lot better if the event was spontaneous. starting as a joke, we ended up making plans to go out last night.
everything was alright, until jay told us he had to stay in the office a little longer. raincheck -- what's new?
anyhow, we decided to move it to friday. probably dinner/coffee/beer/whatever somewhere in the timog area (wherever that is). i tld winnie about it. she was all for it if it was last night, but friday? uhm... lets just say she wasn't all that excited.
ended up meeting with her after she took care of some business with people from the College of Fine Arts (memorable lines were: only God can make a tree. what that means? go figure.). we headed for SM and grabbed dinner. lucky me, it was her treat. got to catch up on old times. didn't really realize how much i missed her. its been about a year since we last had a decent conversation. i had fun talking to her again, even if she's still the same cynical, no-nonsense chick i came to know and i'm the less cynical bastard who found happiness in the comfort of people called "friends" (note: this doesn't mean winnie has no friends, she's just cynical with regard to some, or most, of our HS classmate who still make childish immature comments on life and what not). still understand her though, always have. she's one tough, scary girl. and its touching to know that among our HS classmates, i'm one of the few she wants to see. she says that we (meaning me, peter and jasper) were the only ones in the batch who talk with sense. (see? strong words... she IS a brat, but i like her just the same). after dinner we parted ways. i went home, she went to buy a new blouse.
called marissa when i got home. talked to her for 2 hours or so. the only thing that made us hang up was the fact that i still have work (yeah right) the next day and it was already midnight. she wanted me to stay on the line and talk more. guess she does miss me. haven't talked to her for a while too. didn't wanna miss her birthday. anyhow, as soon as i was going to hit the sack, jenny called.
spent half an hour or so talking to her. she just got unlimited calls from globe, hence the call. got to chat about things and what not, then hung up.
damn i miss the days when i was in HS. it was fun, even if we were branded as renegades by the administration...
and by writing this i thought i could get out of the said nostalgic state. hope this wears off before it reverses its effects on me...
