some thoughts on yesterday's quotes

“Some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity…” – Gilda Radner

true enough. life is about uncertainty, and our quest to discover that which we do not know - either about the world, or about ourselves. but uncertainty in itself is scary, for me at least... even if education has equipped me with the knowledge to deal with it. still, i can't help but be scared not knowing.

change is a good thing. it allows us to grow and be the person we wish to be, though this isn't always the case. situations sometimes force us to become what we dread the most - the opposite of who we want to become.

"the more you know yourself, the less you become it..." - Albert Einstein

it makes sense to a certain degree. as you discover the good, the bad, and the ugly side of you, you tend to take measure to change - thus becoming less of your former self. like i said, it's not a bad thing... if you change for the good.

taking the moment and making the most out of it, whitout knowing what's gonna happen next...
yeah, life is short. make the most out of it. oppurtunities come only once... but you don't have to grab every oppurtunity that comes your way. this would be somehow related to the "going where the wind takes you" attitude. its a nice way to live, taking whatever life throws at you... but eventually, you have to settle down and find your place in the world. debi told me that i can't keep doing the things i do. i have to know what i want, and do whatever i can to get it. i can't ride the wind forever...

on a different note, (and when i say different i mean, my relationship with cham), taking the moment and making most out of it is quie comforting for my situation. right now, she (and haze) are close to furniture status... and i'm happy having them in my life. i think i can say that i've never had anyone this close to me ever. i was a loner when i was a kid. i had a lot of friends in highschool, but none ever came close to what i have with cham and haze. i guess "making the most out of it" is enjoying the company while its there...

"your location defines your friends..."
this one's from my big sister. true enough... you make friends by sharing your everyday lives with them. how can you do that when you're 10,000 miles away? the internet? yeah, that can be a solution, but physical presence is still essential in any relationship.

this can actually solve my addiction to cham... but to pull away from her means pulling away from my friends too... maybe there's a way to do this. i haven't figured it out yet. for the meantime, i'll be happy having her in my life... as a friend, a close friend...

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens: but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us” – Helen Keller

where's the open door? things like these are so tricky... it just tells you to let go and look for another person to love, but when do you let go? when do you say, "that's it"? how do you know if you should hold on? *sigh*

"love doesn't have to be contained..."

my quote for the day. actually, i made it up. i don't have to be in a relationship to love someone, or at least that's what i want to think. i'm just thankful that i can take care of the people dear to me. there's no need to return anything, the feeling of just having to take care of them is more than enough to make me love them more...
